Concept : To have a dining area as well as a bar area, separated, but still keeping certain transparency between both areas.
Cuisine: French light cuisine
Owners: Nayla Mourani , Joseph Mourani
Location: Gmmayzeh neighbourhood of Beirut, where the roots are. The most authentic neighbourhood with a lot of hidden places.
Idea of look: best way to reflect separation was to create two transparent zones, tunnels, which make clients feel cozy as in a cocoon. Trying to get a homey atmosphere, where nothing is showing. Kept the space simple and sober, like the food!
Decorator: PAUL Kaloustian Architect
Material used: Black Helios screen, cold cathodes lights, black wood, black leather.
Civil work: Keep the authentic touch and aspect of original old Gemmayzeh. Kept the original place and shape intact as it is in the first place. Placed a window façade / glass walls to maintain the transparency and voyeurism.
Likes: Feels home. Amazing sound system ALCONS AUDIO. Everyone is able to chat without having to yell in each others faces, yet they are immerged in the music.
MYU: nick name in high school, derived from “MUYRANI”
Elie Louaizi: Chosen because he is the best and picky like I am , He was introduced to me by a friend.
Alcons: Heard it at Buddha Bar, sound is amazing. Didn’t want too install or hear anything else but Alcons.
Alcons Experience: Amazing/ perfect sound. Distributed the speakers so not to raise he volume & yet have sufficient amount of sound and music, to be embedded in music, yet be able to talk & hear each others. People are here at the bar to talk and not to dance, ALCONS was fit for demand “2 thumbs up” from Owners…

Bar: Ashraf Hazin Bar manager, with his crue. One of the fastest bartender with with the capability to always come up with a new drink…
Everytime we get a new employee, they get top pass on the Bar/ Kitchen/ and dining area, to ensure constant quality.

Challenge to Elie Louaizi:
Very picky client, very hard to satisfy his taste.
Visited around 100 clubs and night clubs to be able to choose the speakers type he wants to work on.
Because it is a pub-restaurant the customers need to talk and enjoy the music, at the same time the challenge was to protect this concept. This was accomplished with alcons, because of the clear and flat sound they emit.

Amazing food/ sound/ music/ atmosphere/ everybody loves . everybody !!!!
Nayal Mourani: Back office Dynamo! Moteur / generateur/ perfect organizational skill, devoted. Without her the beauty of the concept application is never real! She makes it real!
